Crustal is a mineral wall covering that adds texture and character to a wall. It offers a robust, natural look with real depth and variation; its coarser texture gives a raw, tactile quality that creates a timeless, authentic atmosphere. It is also an elegant way to finish rougher surfaces — its own structure counterbalances the roughness of the substrate.
Crustal is pigmented throughout. Working with combs, brushes or spatulas — and adding coloured pigments — the applicator can create countless textures and shades, from a uniform, chalky matt to a heavily textured wall. The final result depends entirely on the craftsman and their hand.
It is, first and foremost, a mineral system: a white powder, coloured on site by mixing with mineral pigments and water, that cures to a matt, chalky stucco or a raw, natural texture.

The same powder becomes a family of surfaces — smooth and chalky, finely mineral, coarsely textured, or combed like timber.

Pigmented throughout and mixed on site — a curated palette from ivory and linen to basalt and carbon. Custom colours on request.

- Composition
- A versatile, mineral-based decorative wall plaster. Supplied as a white powder, coloured on site by mixing with powdered mineral pigments and water, then hand-applied and cured to a matt, chalky stucco or a raw, natural texture.
- Equipment
- Crustal powder (4 kg or 16 kg bags) and Stoopen & Meeûs powder pigments, with StucPrimer and a suitable topcoat (Uniwall 1KPU or CrustalFix). Tools: a mechanical mixer, clean water, a Venetian trowel and texturing tools such as a Crustal brush or roller.
- Protection
- Crustal can be protected against moisture and stains with a fine coat of Uniwall 1KPU. Where a CrustalAccent colour wash has been applied, it is first sealed with CrustalFix before any further protective coat. Representative tests are always carried out first.
- Where it's used
- For interior walls, ceilings and furniture, on stable, solid, dry and clean substrates. It suits virtually all common mineral building materials and boards, provided the surface is properly prepared. High-quality workmanship is essential to the result.
